Interview at Google

This has been bothering me for quite sometime, I have applied and had a phone interview at Google in 2015 and 2017. Both times did not get a call back, so was rejected. After the June 2017 call, I sent a follow up email asking for another opportunity to interview, trying not to sound desperate (I might have though).

Since then I tried again in 2018 May, June and tried to reach the hiring manager who posted they are looking to hire on Linkedin, I got response but once I send out my resume I dont hear back.
It feels as if there is something they are looking at (an internal database type of thing) and not getting back.

So want to know from Google Hiring managers or folks who are aware of the hiring process of why is this happening and if there is a lock/wait time or a database or worse a black list (I did not do anything to be on it though) that is stopping me to proceed or is it just my resume+position match?

This is bothering me a lot and was hoping to get some closure :) (like Pinkman!!!)

Why? But why Google? Shitty food, shitty products, shitty promotion process, boring positions, even shitty pay... Do I need to go on? The only remaining glimmer of attraction that is left is a glimpse of their prestige they used to have almost 15 years ago that is long gone today.

When I’m looking out I’ll be looking at other options as well, and am not stopping only for google. Want to know so that I can learn and fix if something is wrong or not up to the mark on my end.

Very classy of you to use someone else's death when you're clearly using mockery. Look, I have worked at both places for years, and fb has it's share of problems too. But you have to face the truth, Google is nowhere where it used to be in every facet. Even assuming for a second it is, at it's birth the culture and perks were very unique in sv. Now, about every company has imitated the same thing to a whole another level while Google is still stuck in 1997.

You are thinking too much! Google is just one company. I recently gave their onsite, and didn’t clear it. It’s not end of the world. Salesforce is a pretty good company too! Not saying you shouldnt try to improve and go to better places, but don’t get hung up on it.

Salesforce is good, and am not looking at google as the only option, but want to know if I’m missing some piece of info or process.

Do you have internal references at google? That might help.

I do have few previous colleagues and acquaintances who can refer. They are not like close friends and I may have to call in a favor to get a referral, which is okay. The contention in my head is if I do that and if there is something that say I cannot be interviewed (my original question) then I may tarnish my image with them who are willing to refer me. If I feel sure that nothing like that exists, I can fire all cylinders and get referral.

I dont think you would be blacklisted just because you didnt clear the phone screen twice. Like I said, may be you are just overthinking it! Its a system, may be you just got bumped down in the queue of people applying, because of your earlier performance.

May be its just sheer bad luck. There are 💯 other companies out there with equally good reputation. I would just go to one of them if I can, and try again for Google after gaining few more years of experience in one of those companies.
