      Not this at all, index funds. You won't beat the market, don't try

      Ive been "beating the market" by closing positions to make 300-400/week , even during recently when markets have been bad

      @wakado don‘t treat the market as something to "beat"

      Haha well I too make 400 a week but I don't do anything. Even if you somehow do regularly beat the market, this guy is asking for where to put his money so he is just starting out, he could get really burned if he tries to buy individual stocks (which again is extremely unlikely that he will even match regular ETF's performance, and I doubt that you do but for the sake of argument I will allow) so I would rather give sound advice. I am not treating the market as something to beat, I am using many studies that say this to make my decisions. I can include sources if you are interested

      What are you investing in that makes 300-400 a week recently?
      Guaranteed not tech sector because it‘s been doing terribly for past 1.5 months.

      Sounds like you‘re not actually making/pocketing that money because you are not closing your position, you are just holding (passive investor)
      Yes I‘ve gotten burned trying new things, but I‘m always trying new strategies, and overall very positive

      @Zeus09 feel free to DM

    Would pick 3 different vanguard funds and invest $30k each // $15k now and $15k 8-10% lower. Save the other $10k in a high yield savings account like wealthfront.

    $VGT is my favorite, but $VIGAX is solid as well. Lots of good low cost Vanguard funds to choose from.

      Moviepass. 6000% y/y revenue growth, three digit profit margin.

      There's a negative sign in the profit margin, but an impressive feat nonetheless

    You should diversify your investments. Use low-cost diversified 3-fund portfolio with small-cap value fund tilt. Read more about investing basics here: www.firetobiz.com/investing-basics .

    Just FYI... One rule of investment is that you should only invest so much that you can afford to lose. If $100k is what you have and you are ok if you lose it if market falls, you should be still good.
