Yahoo in 2010 was a hot tech dumpster and pretty much died down in 2016. Is Facebook the next Yahoo after worst 2018, regulation issues and social media dying the slow death? Tc:240k
Facebook will figure things out and become a tech darling again in 3 years.
It’s not clear regulation is bad for Facebook, it might make it harder for new startups to compete and as a result make it easier for Facebook to maintain the status quo. Regulation will almost certainly make it harder for Chinese firms to compete in the US with Facebook. Facebook is pretty entrenched, what would it take for someone to displace it?
That was a sexy good analysis.
A lot of people are becoming tired of using FB these days. Prob it will take little longer than 10yrs for it to become irrelevant
I have changed my Facebook password with a random password, log out from all the devices, forgot the password, to avoid wasting time there but still being able to use messanger
@Facebook did you find your answer
Instagram has more users than snap and Twitter combined. Fb also has truck loads of cash and still makes tons of money. It's gonna be a loooong time before they turn into yahoo if ever
Facebook is the next AOL. I still use Facebook and I feel like I have @aol address. Younger people moved to Instagram, whatsapp, etc. Yet, FB company will still be a major player in the business of connecting people.
I feel Facebook is more likely to rebrand themselves completely before going into the dumpster fire. They still have a lot of great tech. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do something similar to Google and simply make a parent org like Alphabet
I don't think Facebook has that many diverse interests to become alphabet.
Why are Glassdoor posters so obsessed with Facebook? And why is it I always see poor polls from them? We will never lower our standards to hire you OP. Get over it
Except interviews are 50% luck, and you surely got lucky in your Facebook interview to have passed...
I agree with the rebranding. Eventually they will not be tied to their core product and start diversifying. Already they have a younger audience in Instagram. In the next five years, that audience will mature and will start to make buying decision through Instagram. And whatsapp is a very strong player around the world, espeically in the developing markets. In those markets, as broadband infrastructures become better, more people will start to find ways to grow their businesses through whatsapp. It will become a massive cash cow if they make the correct product decisions.
Strong player but tricky to monetize...
In the US, surprising amount of people talk bad about Facebook, but love Instagram. Seems like the rebranding is already in place.
Until there is a viable alternative that is gaining popularity, Facebook will stay king. Their stock price is an emotional downturn not a logical one.
Social media will stay. facebook growth will be stale.
Tender knows his shit .
