Any thoughts on how IBM is doing? Their revenue has been going down. Thoughts?
What about Watson and cloud business?
Watson is still more marketing than product. And what cloud business?
You can get away with 25 to 30 hours of work and spend the rest trading stocks/etfs or contracting work for a startup company 20 hours a week. This brings up the TC to market level with the job security that IBM provides. They won't fire you. You have to fire yourself.
Not true. So many lay-offs happen each year
IBM isnโt going anywhere anytime soon. Eggs are in too many baskets.
IBM Blockchain no. 1
How the fuck can anyone ask this question? IBM is a zombie surviving by repeat layoffs.
Toxic culture. Stay away from that crappy company. Very very low TC, absolutely no RSUs. ESPP is 5% discount, no one signs up. Management treats employees like a widget.
Sounds like Intel almost. We have some peanut RSUs though.
It's an Oracle with a weaker install base and without the R&D cash. That last one is what will kill it. You can't fix products without funding to do so, much less hit a big red reset button on everything. IBM is too big to vanish overnight, but its bets need to start paying off soon, or else...
OP are you in ML at Athena?
It's ok. Some orgs are good. Some orgs are bad. Salaries are not competitive especially beyond entry-level but many good people stick around because IBM is a company with good intentions and high impact, and offers decent wlb to compensate for low money.
โGood intentions.โ
