Keep on winning in league matches but keep on losing in knockouts. And doing this repeatedly.

And I think, whatever you say about rohit and Kohli, they have been failing in knockouts. 2015 semis, 2017 final, and now today.

How about Dhoni? What an unlucky way and wrong time to get out. He always bring it up in big game and many don't like his style but he seemed like a fighter who never give up. I was just feeling bad for him that it was probably his last world cup game or may be last oneday.

Yeah, feel bad for him. Getting run out like that in probably what will be his last odi, for someone like him who was always considered very good runner. was just heart breaking.

Agree. They definitely feel and behave more and more like South Africa

For God's sake stop analyzing the game. This is not a game of chance anymore, especially after knowing how much BCCI and by extension the ICC is rotten by corruption.

The Cincinnati Bengals of cricket

I'm not gonna judge anyone but it was such a simple target from a team that is not necessarily formidable. The idiotic mistakes made by the top order forced the team to pay a hefty price even when there were good chances.

True. They just needed to play out those first few overs like they have been doing so well throughout the world cup.

Salesforce Usbj01 Jul 10, 2019

That or fix the fuckin middle order. Playing jadhav and shankar through most of the world cup came back to bite us in the ass.

Yeah, apart from top three we don't have anyone in the middle order to make 100s.

Kohli is unlucky I guess. Whenever he is captain we are losing. Ipl, CT, world cups etc. Great player and probably a great captain too but I guess unlucky. But nonetheless Kane was and is a prodigy apparently

Amazon pifc46 Jul 10, 2019

Yeah I think it's time for Rohit to be given the captaincy now.

Amazon pifc46 Jul 10, 2019

NZ just did their homework of the weaknesses of our top order well. After that India wasn't prepared for a top order collapse. This is why it's important to experiment and fail in the league stage and know your vulnerabilities.

Amazon kimbo Jul 10, 2019

Not really, this was unexpected. The top order has been dependable all the while. Look at games from #1, one or the other was able to put up decent runs

That's what I am saying. Our top order has been so dependable and consistent in league matches, not only now but even in previous world cups. Which is why, I just fail to understand what happens to them in knockouts. You could understand happening this once or twice, may be to one or two players. But all top order failing often and together in knockouts is something not acceptable.

So sad to see India losing in semis. But, they never prepared for this! All blame should go to selectors, team management and captain. It takes years to build a strong middle order. Rather than leaning on talented players and grooming them by giving consistent opportunities, they keep rotating the middle order before the World Cup. We ended up having 3 wicket keeper batsmen as our core middle order in a knockout match. We should bring some smart head selectors and coach!
