What constitutes a #MeToo ? Does gender discrimination at work count?
It started with the sexual assault victims but spread to everything people typically kept quiet about.
Is that a good thing?
You have a solid point op. The more trivial things the hashtag is used for, the easier it will be for people to dismiss it
I agree, we need common understanding of the severity of the issues at hand. Dont you think its weird tho, if a female from a relatively progressive world asking for more rights are often reminded of the people that are suffering in the other countries. Its almost like, Oh i am sorry, i didnt know i had to compare my life with someone worse to feel better🤦♀️
The origin was asking anyone who had been sexually assaulted or harassed to post “me too” to give a sense of the magnitude of the problem
Yes. Whatever u want
Lol, i dont want people to misuse a term if it meant to address really important things, we all agree there is a institutional problem and bias towards women for generations, why not just try to understand them. We dont blame the men of current generation for all of it, it would mean a great deal if men just took the time to understand and look back as a society.
At this point it is whatever to some. Koolaid has a reference to the mass suicide but people use it alll the damn time.
