Interested in Facebook, Google, Apple for SW side. It is a technical low bar, but TC would be better or same?
Would there be more competition? More stress? Less TC later in career?
I have 5 YOE in QA. Is it too late to switch?
Probably a different stress, but more responsibility, TC, and other benefits - but it’s not for everyone. If you enjoy QA because of the engineering aspect you might not enjoy all of the things a PM does, but it could still be a good move. Are there other things like security that you’ve considered moving into? It’s really hard to get back into the technical side for many people who move to any PM role. I don’t do much coding now as a PM and was bummed, but I’ve learned to get joy from teaching it.
i like the technical aspect and wanted to be sde, but coding bar is too high for me to pass. Eventually I would want to be technical manager, so TPM role is sort of like that and i see faster path to management.
Are interviews easy to pass? It seems more behavioral then technical per say. Maybe you can get higher level as TPM

How did you make it to Amazon with coding bar being high?
