I’ve heard people talking about google investment being unrealistic and not making a lot of money and becoming more bureaucratic and less free. I would like some serious opinion for if it is it true and also for a new grad is it better to stay in amazon or go to Google, thinking about terms of 2-3 years of overall growth, compensation wise and career growth as well as tech skill growth. would also like some take on the brand value for google v.s. amazon in 3 years duration, and best with an approx percentage better to get an idea. a very confused new grad here.
search ads still prints money, engineering learning experience won’t be as good as good as it used to
If you want growth and better compensation, why isn't Facebook a consideration?
+1. I was at G before fb and can confirm you are not given nearly the same level of autonomy and freedom over your projects. Honestly I wish I would have skipped those two years of my life and started at fb sooner
Google is where you go to waste your talent but sit on a bigger pile of money.
I'll gladly take this ^^ deal. Better than working my ass off and earning peanuts.
As a rule of thumb, if you’re going to ask a question which is already biased in its tone, then blind will happily feed that bias. So OP, you’re wasting your time on this post. Change your question from using phrases like “is still” to something simpler like, how is google for a software engineer.
Got it, thanks for the suggestion!
Nope. It's becoming more and more like everyone else. It's great if you are a SJW. Awesome projects to work on.
Based on my experience here, yes it is
Could you please share a little more? Thank you!
