My spouse is not an engineer. I am. PM's H1bs are all over the place these days! I have to now plan to leave this country cos of that. You win! Making immigrants leave! <slow clap>
My wife has struggled hard to setup her own business while on H4, she isbthe happiest I have seen her in past 4yrs after batteling depression as she could not work. I have personally never hated any political/religious/ethnic group (not even the Pakis, Yes I am Indian) But if H4 EAD is cancelled I will personally vow to fight Trump until he rots in hell
just coz something doesnt work your way, you can stoop to such level. shows what you made of.
H-1 visa was meant to bring "skilled" labor to the United States. You are using the H4 to bypass the lottery and the requirement for being "skilled". You may argue that your spouse is skilled and I respect that fully. However, in that case, your spouse needs to join the queue like other folks who need to go through the H-1B process. You may then argue that technically you are awaiting your green card and are about to become a permanent resident, which affords you the privilege to allow your spouse to work. In that case, you need to fight the country-wise quota limits for each year and accelerate your journey towards that green card. Your spouse doesn't just inadvertently end up displacing American jobs, but you are also displacing other high-skilled labor that has gone through a master's degree in the US and meets the eligibility for high-skilled labor more than someone else who came here as a dependent. You may also argue that setting up a business doesn't qualify as displacing other labor. And yes sir, you are probably right. However, there's an EB-5 route for that. You can't just skip your way to land employment and business opportunities that way when others have to invest a million dollars for that EB-5. I'm sorry about your situation and I empathize with you. You shouldn't have been put into this position in the first place because you probably made your life plans based on these policies. However, that doesn't mean that other deserving candidates should bear the brunt of it. Lastly, "not even Pakis" is pretty distasteful. Like thanks for not being hateful towards a particular group, you are so kind! Finally, before you jump to any conclusions about my nationality, I'm Indian.
My spouse is PM on h1b. Now changing jobs and h1b is under tight gun as he does not work in software domain but financial domain. Anyway eb2 gc is not happening for us for like next 20 years. Not sure if i will be alive by then ππ
How do you know 20 years? What is your approx PD
Just leave US man. This is not worth the price you and your spouse would pay.
H4 EAD is going away but it's not an overnight thing: 1) The govt is going to be sued beyond belief. There is every chance of the judgement being overturned. Many people are proactively getting ready to sue. 2) Even if this doesn't hold water in the supreme court, the DHS will use the same phase out strategy as they did for DACA. 3) There is also a slim chance that this whole thing might not be a blanket-revoke. H4 EAD in a STEM job as a full time employee might still be allowed to keep his/her EAD. Not all is lost people. Let's not run around scared. Most of the people on H4 EAD have bachelor degrees. The US wouldn't want to just throw all of this away.
We Indians were claiming "housing crash", "tech jobs moving to India", "collapse of silicon valley" when this news first started coming out last year. Now we have started crying and begging when it's finally being implemented. Common guys, have some balance and proper perspective whether the situation is good or bad.
There will be a crash, but a super slow one - more of a ten year decline - that pushes up Indian tech scene. More of people slowly making 1year plans to return to India than leaving in droves. At some point when India is equally attractive and thereβs a lot more opportunities there the rate should slow down
India will grow and SV will decline - not because Indianz r awesomez but because Indiais the growth market for tech right now - and if you donβt have engineers that understand the market, youβre fucked
H4 EAD would have been dead April 2017. Thanks to intervention from 2 people, doj couldn't settle out of court with save jobs. https://www.prweb.com/releases/2017/03/prweb14127315.htm Check this out. These are the same folks who are spearheading hr392 (Immigration voice). If you are a beneficiary of h4 EAD or stuck in backlog, don't hesitate to donate to them.
Make India great again!
Trump 2020 yay's: WHY??!! What on earth have immigrants done to you!!?? π£π²
Nothing but if Warren wins in 2020 our taxes will double to 70%.
