Heading to India via Atartuk airport(3 hour layover). Want to know if anyone has recently been to that airport and faced any hassles or issue?
Double up your life insurance, son
Have travelled to india via Istanbul couple of times. No issues. Its a bit chaotic but not bad. Do try the ice cream. Its fun.
It's pretty fine, now that summers over there will be less tourists which is to your benefit it's a huge airport but that 3 hour layover will be more than enough
Definitely safer now. How safe? Probably similar to safety level of working in a skyscraper in NYC after Sept 11. Why so much focus and worry after 1 in a million events?
Travelling back for the first time after coming to the US(4 years). Booked the tickets via Turkish airlines, because they were cheap but a couple of friends warned me about it
Ataturk is fine, I go through all the time. Turkish Airlines is a good airline.
Depends on how experienced you are with sky diving...
Travelled via Istanbul last year. The airport is busy as Turkish airways is a big carrier but lacks proper infrastructure ( seating, toilets and charging points). They were building a new terminal last year so maybe things are better now.
Dude. You’re going to India. Ataturk is a gentle introduction.
Nope
Another example of perceived danger vs. real danger. India may have had more terror attacks overall than Turkey...
I wonder if it is safer in Turkey than in the US, considering almost monthly mass shootings.
Ataturk is a huge airport, really huge and not well managed
Is the security similar to what we see in US or other European countries?
Yes, but lines are usually longer
