I've been hearing that through the grapevine. Is it true?
Bezos said it’s so he doesn’t get played by some kid who’s not sure he wants to work 80 hours a week or not.
Yes. Check the sec filings. Even the c level is only getting 160-175k max
C level getting some salary does not mean everyone else get less. A lot of c level compensation is stock based. Look at Facebook, zuckerberg gets $1, but others base is much higher.
Yea, for example, what do some really vital aws, ml architects make?
This is why Glassdoor salary listings are continually broken.
Jeff B is so brilliant.
Yes
Sure is. That’s why stock and sign on are the most substantial component at Amazon.
The sign on bonus will make your cash comp higher in the first 2 years if you’re at a higher level...then it’s all stock above the $160k
Yes, there is a base salary cap of $160K in Seattle. The rest of comp is RSUs. Directors and above as well, but the RSU grants are a lot higher and most of their comp is in stock.
Depends on location as SF/NY are 185 max but Seattle is 160k max. Doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from...
