Target and Walmart have been building up their supply chain and retail capabilities in-house to compete with Amazon. Do you think it is better to join target or Walmart? Which one would you choose?
They're not going to go die anytime soon and I think they're both smart enough to see their traditional models are dying. You should have good job security in the medium term. I would ask for cash not stock.
I highly doubt that, giant ships like Walmart take forever to adopt new business models.
Which part do you doubt? I'm trying to argue that although they are dying they are dying slowly, realize this, and are trying to throw money at the problem (despite their incompetence)
target recently did not renew with marketing analytics team in the data science safehaven environment using acx data
Sure. Target might be better culturally but Walmart is more respected from a supply chain standpoint.
With them on resume lots of doors are open in supply chain elsewhere
Depends on what you want out of your career - changing supply chain - go with a startup like ClearMetal... if operational experience go with amazon
Worked at Target HQ. Worst company I have ever been at. Co-workers were great, management was awful. It is like a cult and if you don't conform, you won't be happy. I was in IT, but met people from other areas who had similar experiences.
When did you work for Target? Target recently changed its ideology for supply chain and has started building the capabilities in-house. This is the team I am being considered for. I wonder if the company culture has changed since they embarked on this transformation?
Did you end up joining here?
Sabre- they say the ideology has changed. But culture is the same. It takes ages to get something done. And they have this passive aggressive culture which is unbearable. And the culture of consensus rarely helps getting things done
I worked at Target and at a partner of Walmart supply chain. I would with Walmart. Target does fast follow really well where as Walmart is trying innovation. Both will have their share of bad management so keep an eye out for that.
I worked for target supply chain and it is archaic
Is it still archaic?
Location? If pay is good then why not. Both are improving their online marketing so it is good time to join but negotiate ton of money.
Minneapolis as location
