Is media taking down tech gaints deliberately?

Around 2007-2009 Tech crunch wrote against Yahoo, like every other day. Amazon had it until recently. Facebook is at the receiving end lately, with everything blown out of proportion. Yes, each company had their problems, but feel media blows everything 10x once the company is under negative publicity for some time. Seems like every blog and news site wants to have their share and say we too wrote about that company. Do you see a pattern of media targeting a company consistently and blowing every small thing out of proportion?

Facebook folks know :)

Amazon Awwwshu Dec 19, 2018

No. There are real problems in tech companies and reporters follow the stories that interest people and that they think are important. And where there’s evidence

Google wqIe83 OP Dec 19, 2018

Yes, there are real problems. But when people clicked a button to opt in to a feature and give some personal info to an app, and still FB gets bashed... 🤷‍♂️ if media yells at everything and wants to say I wrote about this new problem first, the real problems go out of sight and less important problems get to the forefront. Things like Cambridge Analytica, allowing access without permission, are the real problems.

There’s more ethical questions than what you just described, slimy ad selling companies must stick together

Add Wells Fargo to the list :)

Was it as bad as FB? Don't think so. WF got what it deserved. IMO, tech companies for some reason get more than what they deserve.

yes all the bad decisions, privacy violations, demonstrable liberal bias and anti competitive practices is media’s fault. They shouldn’t be reporting these things against public interest

Amazon monad7 Dec 19, 2018

Nope, people are just figuring out that tech entrepreneurs aren’t good guys, and the speculative bubble is bursting.

Media is a business - readers hate big, whether it’s government, business, or sports teams. Hate drives more clicks than love.

Media is underreporting on tech industry. Everybody knew about FB real time streaming of user data for a long time and media briefly reported about it only this week. Media is covering up tech giants.

If media focused on any one company they would find dirt. I cant wait for the day the media gets what they deserve
