FML I'm not even at 100k
Out of college, I got offers from every AAG (didn’t apply to F or N), but also applied to Hulu because it seemed legit exciting back then. They were the only one that didn’t give me an offer. Still bitter about that, but feeling much better these days with my 400k TC.
Key word: "back then". Not better now either
Yeah a negative correlation, that's the big joke
That's correct there was a scientific study somewhere that beyond a certain amount there is a inverse correlation of net worth and salary with happiness
Do you have the study on hand?
Age is a common cause/factor for both increased TC and decreased happiness
Care to elaborate a little bit more on the age factor
^Without controlling for age, your poll is likely to be effed
I remember reading that up to a certain amount there is (so you could just live without worrying about money). But then more money did not mean more happiness. People who have a really high TC might be stressed more and have more responsibilities. Perhaps less time with family and friends. So wouldn’t be surprised if in tech it’s negatively correlated. I’m happy and I currently make peanuts (less than 150k). But I think it’s because I don’t have to think about money. I’m currently negotiating for 2x my current pay and I don’t think I’d get happier. Just able to retire earlier/get more stuff.
TC = happiness. TC = life.
Are you happy at Oracle?...even with all the firings?
What firings? People who don’t know anything exaggerate everything.
More money more problems after a certain point

Sometimes it seems that above 200, there's almost an inverse correlation
