Tier3 public company, 184k base, 100k rsu per year, 15% target, 20k signon. tc around 320k Currently at msft level 63 8.5yoe, 220k tc.Not too much hope for up level. Will u jump based on this?
With 8.5 years you could have been principal level now... Why the slow progress?
Most software engineers don't actually reach what most companies would term "principal"
Because I was good but not the best in out ream, and Principal only awards to the best.
Which location and level (L4?)? This seems to be a solid offer for L4
I would take the 20K sign on out which puts you at 312 if my math is right. That’s over 40% more than 220. Assuming the jobs are relatively the same from a happiness perspective, it was nice working with you.

Nope, interview elsewhere and get a better offer at a company with better compensation and impact prospects than Microsoft before you move In particular, come to Salesforce. We hire anyone from Microsoft who has a pulse. We'll definitely beat that TC for 8.5 YOE. There's an internal survey on our channel where someone is beating your TC at 4 YOE, lol
I also get two other offers from FANNG but got downleveled, Like AMZN give me L5 with 270TC.
L5 is the right level for L63.
