JPM (JPMorgan) Coin will it succeed?

Apparently, JPMorgan is coming out with their own cryptocurrency to help aid with international transfers within the bank. Do you think this will succeed? Are other banks developing their own digital coins too? I think unless governments come up with their own digital currencies decentralization is too much of a risk. What exactly are the benefits of a decentralized currency? Would love to hear from finance gurus!

Google Glass was supposed to be a smash hit too, for the same reasons when released.

Banks have been jizzing their pants over blockchain for a while now but for JPM there’s no benefit to decentralization.

There could be, but probably not as a cryptocurrency unless it grows substantially in usage rates and value (like Bitcoin).

Blockchain software can (eventually) automate transaction, compliance and fraud detection processes, potentially saving billions in long term labor costs through automation.

JPMorgan investor day slide shows their longer term plans. First, it discusses a replacement for Ripple called the iin with 185+ banks already signed up.

Then, it says JPM Coin will be a stablecoin issued on Quorum but will be compatible on other blockchains.

Banks are not going to use XRP enrich Ripple. They are creating their own coin. Right now, Ripple sells 100 millions of XRP every quarter, the only buyers are a fool like you

It’s not crypto 1. The name is marketing. 2. It’s not decentralized. 3. It’s for internal use (international clients transactions/securities

Succeed? It’s irrelevant. The only thing that matters is bitcoin. Alt coins are forks. Developers only care about bitcoin and those are the only people that matter.

Why wouldn’t it succeed? It’s just another tether coin of their own, they have the usd to back it.
