Looking for some help getting my wife to interview with some of the bigger tech companies with offices in Chicago. She's a professor teaching computer science, we are relocating here, she has her green card.
I am feeling a bit guilty as she landed a job as a SWE with Cisco in London but had to turn it down in order to move here for my new job.
She wants to get out of teaching and get more into coding. She has 2 bachelor's one in Financial Engineering and another in Computer Science. Has 1 year in Financial Engineering experience and has been teaching computer science for the last year and a half at a university.
She's well versed in all the C languages, Python, Java, Matlab, SQL, R and a lot of stuff around networking I don't understand. She was an honors student in college... I don't know why she married me.
Anyways, I feel bad for her having to turn down a job at Cisco and we tried to see if they would get her in here and they have been dragging their feet.
Google, Facebook, Cisco etc.
Thanks for the help!
- She did, is, has? Whatever the pre-interview online Cisco makes you do she got a 100 on the 4 questions asked. She also got offered at MorningStar and one other place in London. Just having trouble getting anything moving in CHI and I think it may be because she's foreign.
- Google / Other EEWl70I’m sure Google would love to have her. You should check if any of the subsidiaries are hiring there.
