Quitting this Slave life
I have a job offer at Tesla (previously solar city) for a senior equipment engineer with 5 years experience 110,000 in salary 50,000 in stock (4 year vesting period) This seems below market to me. Is this a fair offer?
You can tell people you work for Tesla :) they will be jealous. Lol Where is the job at? Bay area or out in the Valley?
Fremont in the bay area. I like the job and the people but not sure how much more I should negotiate for
Wait are those stocks, options or RSUs?
RSUs they do a 3x multiplier between RSUs and options
Not sure if I understood. What do you mean by 3x multiplier between RSUs and options?
I hoped senior would pay more than that. No harm in asking for 120-125
Seems in the range of other senior engineers at Tesla. Tesla doesn't have the money to pay market salaries right now. If that's what motivates you, you should probably look elsewhere.
Correlation is not causation. Elon has always said once Tesla is profitable the company would do better for the employees. It makes sense. I suspect this is the same for other other Elon companies.
Depends on your value you can add. Fight for more if you know you're great. But Tesla is still new... They're looking for eagerness and desperation (my boss is from a failed auto factory back east) rather than investing into proven value. Shop around skilled-one.
Tesla.... it is more about the mission. If you care about the mission. Do it. If you are seeking only money, might not be the place for you. The work is hard. However, if you can get a position out in Lathrop, that much money will net you a huge new house in the new swanky part of town.
Hello millionaire !
No. But hey, it'll be fun. You're already bald?
