Keep employment secret to avoid lawsuites?

Hey there, joined Google after a short ride at Amazon and can't shake the feeling that Amazon might be looking to sue former Amazon employees.

Is this unreasonable? Is posting my new job safe to LinkedIn and social media?

It's a switch to a different product area for me, no transfer of IP, but Amazon is competing with almost every field today, including the the one at Google.

Are you particularly high up? Director or above? I doubt they’d care if you’re just an IC.

He is clearly an IC. VP/D level wouldn’t ask advice in blind. Lol.

    Just ignore it.

If you look, the lawsuits are always dropped. It's just a scare tactic. Even then, you have to be a director or higher and literally go to a competitor for them to take notice.

Those of you that say post it. Look up non compete in WA state. There are barbers and fast food workers who are prevented from working for a competitor for 2 years..!!!! For them it involves moving to another city, in the tech area that is not an option. So be very careful. California has employment mobility laws, WA does not and cases like inevitable disclosure are won here all the time. I know. Be VERY careful.

Depends on your employment contract with amazon. I don’t see what grounds they would have to sue you unless you violated a contract you had with Amazon. If it’s at will and there is no non compete agreement they have no reason to sue you.
