Laid off: FB/Lyft/other Referral help
I was laid off as part of a company RIF and have been looking for a new job the past 3 weeks. I’m currently located in Bay Area. If possible, would be grateful for any referral. There are 2 roles that I’m eyeing and hoping to apply for, 1 with FB/Instagram & 1 with Lyft. Any chance anyone from FB or Lyft could help with a referral too? 13 YOE Last 4-5 years have been in strategy and planning

If you're open to any tips, LinkedIn will be a HUGE asset for this. Finding people who work at those specific companies on here may turn out to be difficult, but on LinkedIn you can easily search for them. Then just connect with as many of them as possible One extra tip I would add is to slow play it, start with a basic introduction and how awesome it is that they work for the company. Then 2-3 messages later feel free to come out with the request for a referral but be prepared to back it up with some proof/qualifications as those people will be putting their names on the line
