Hi guys, Am practising leetcode a lot and have done 300 around questions so far, sometimes i come up with the solution for new question n for some questions if i know the approach, i can qickly code it up. But during interviews no leetcode questions are coming n somehow i couldnt comeup with approach. So what should i start doing to improve that? I can code fast once i know the approach but to i couldnt come up with approach for still lot of questions while practicing even. Please help as i need the job asap and right now in my grace period of h1-b. :(
Leetcode
Keep track of the topics you've mastered, and make a list of topics you still need to get good at (tree traversal, graphs, bit manipulation, dynamic programming, binary search, sorting, balancing trees, etc.). Skip the leetcode questions that have too many thumbs down as they are either worded badly or not general enough to help you with other questions. Implement quicksort, mergesort, and heapsort. If feeling bored, implement in-place quicksort. No one ever asks about radix sort, so you could ignore that for now. Something that's really popular to ask now: matrix traversal questions. E.g., find how many times a certain word appears in a matrix, where a word is a contiguous ordering of letters that is not necessarily straight.
Do 300 latest problems rather than just any 300. Problems more than 1 year old won’t likely be asked.
+1
You did 300 questions and can’t pass a technical interview? That’s honestly hard to believe. I’d bet something else is up, like you are just looking at solutions or something.
I cleared few phone screens n have one offer but team is not so good. So trying hard to make life better.
Yeah i look into solutions when i dont come up in 5-10 mins. There is no point wasting time, may be i am wrong. But if i do other way then i will keep on thinking forever.
If you don’t get type, go study that type of question rather than just try more. Once you get it, then practice more.
Memorize 600 leetcode answers plus Google codestyle guides.
Any good websites which list all leet codes and great answers ?
Uber doesnt even ask leetcode questions n your suggestion doesnt even feasible haha
Oath is not good?
I was affected as part of layoff
Are you offered severance package? If yes, that not bad at all!
@op, is grace period 60 days? Good luck on your search.
Yes
Op where did you join
The way I see it, learning anything takes time and everyone has a different learning rate. So I could “do” 600 leetcode questions in one month but I might only “get” 100 of those questions. Therefore I suggest just be patience and keep practicing.
