Legal Question - Sue someone (Uber/Lyft for example)

Please note : I am using Uber/Lyft in this question only as an example. I have nothing against them. Let’s say Uber/Lyft suggests that it would be 5$ for a trip. Day after taking the trip you realize that you were actually charged 8$. Then you realize that every few trips this has been happening for your Uber/Lyft trips, over years. Another way this could happen is Someone else’s rides are being charged to you- you have not taken these rides at all. Can you sue them for this ? Maybe as a class action lawsuit , as others might be impacted too ? Can you sue a company for a bug that causes you money ? Anybody here did that before ? P.S: This is not a hypothetical scenario, has been happening with me (not with Uber/Lyft of course!)

Just do a charge back on your credit card and explain the situation. Or small claims. Not necessarily sue

How does this stop them from continuing to mess with other customers ?

Report the bug to them via email or twitter. Don’t contribute to the extreme American obsession of suing one another, it’s terrible and gluttonous.

You can sue for pretty much anything you want in the US
