LinkedIn Recruiters

I am considering making a move early next year to another company, similar role (Sr. PMM). I’m curious if there are any strong opinions on working with a recruiteer vs. traditionally applying. I get countless messages on linkedin from agency recruiters but never reply. Not sure if they have my best interest and some of their messages to grab my attention seem desperate. Anyone seen success with these guys in Bay area? Tips/recs welcome I also have no idea where to start in terms of finding the company I want to join...so many great companies in Bay area

Agencies aren’t worth your time but you will get interviews through them. Overall, LinkedIn recruiting is far more effective than traditional online applications. The one’s who also work at the company they are recruiting for are generally better than the agencies.

It can be extremely beneficial to have a good relationship with an agency recruiter. They can open doors to places you may not otherwise get your foot into. But...it needs to be a recruiter that works on direct placement (NOT staffing or temp roles). Plus be sure you vet the recruiter because there are a lot of fly by night folks that say they are recruiters and are just glorified resume pushers. Respond to the ones that have fully built out profiles, reputable firms, etc
