LinkedIn Team Match
Interviewed for a senior engineering role at LinkedIn. Hiring Committee approved the hire but waiting for 5 days for a team match. Recruiter emailed me yesterday that they’re finalizing some details regarding teams. Is it possible to get a rejection at this point? I have a pending offer from another company and an onsite date with another one. I’m really looking forward to the role at LI because the department I interviewed at does very interesting work. Did it take so long for anyone?
Congrats on getting the offer and no you will not be rejected at this point unless you do something that forces them to do it. Sorry that it is taking this long for me it was a few days too and I had an offer that was expiring so I pushed the recruiter to get an answer sooner
Not really possible unless there are no teams that need you. What is possible is that it'll take longer than you want.

It is possible to not have a team match even after passing the onsite- they may be trying to find teams for you
The recruiter responded that they couldn’t match me with a team in the department I interviewed for. They’re trying to see if they can match me with the AI/ML team. I’m confused... I don’t have expertise in AI/ML
Linkedin ai/ml is weak... id look elsewhere really..
Did you get a team match? How many days it took ?
Funny thing. I didn’t. They told me they have a 3 month hiring freeze in Data Infra org for seniors. Offered AI/ML but I refused, because it’s not my thing. The recruiter told me that if they start hiring again for my org, they’ll take me without interviews within a year. So, who knows.

What happens if you don't accept a particular offer at Linkedin (after HC approval)? Is it still on hold for a year? Or is it rescinded?
