I’m a CS grad (its been few years). However, I didn’t enjoy coding nor was I great at it. I ventured to find jobs that were in between —tried associate analyst role at a consulting company which ended up not working out because I ended up waiting for projects for couple months and I was constantly told to relocate to random states. TC very very low. next job, consulting at a decent company, but it ended up being sales quota driven. I left b/c I didn’t want to do sales. I enjoy analyzing data and solving problems, and working on product metrics—did this type of stuff during college (internship & job) good at sql, intermediate at python its been several months (unemployed), nothing has been working out. i tried contract roles; they want more experience. plz need help! (anyone know entry level analyst, business analyst positions, product analyst?) thanks.
Yeah junior PM roles is how I would start. Assuming you’re good at some LeetCode, & can talk about your work at length, you should be fine. If at any point they ask about gaps in work, just say you were travelling/sick or taking a break. How long has it been since your last job? For reference, I had 3 yrs experience as an SDE and took a few months off between my last job and current Amazon gig. Can’t rmr if it even came up, most companies are desperate to hire PMs and SDEs. If you really enjoy python, I’d approach startups with python specific roles. Lots of startups can’t afford ML engineers and you can wear multiple hats. A PM with python + interest in ML would be great for a new/small startup. Maybe look into that? There’s some cheap courses on Udemy if you need to brush up python/ML concepts.
7 months. In the long run, I would like to get into PM role. After college, I applied to tons of APM roles (without referrals); never was called in. Once I made it to the last round, but was rejected since there was someone else way more experienced than me. I asked 3-4 PMs from these product meet-ups, they suggested I go into analytics/analysis then try applying to PM jobs again. (Since analytics background helps)
I was in the same boat, unemployed for 8 months before my Amazon job. Hang in there and keep knocking on those doors!

Thank you; I’ll apply.
Sounds like you should apply for PM roles
I tried and I have a bit of pm experience too. (I don’t qualify for new grad PM roles which usually are entry level)
