I am switching jobs in 2 weeks. I love my current colleagues as they are very warm and welcoming, given it's my first company in the states and I could be openly gay. So I want to take them out for lunch. About 15 people. I want to stay between $250 to $350. (including tips) Any nice restaurants you recommend in Seattle (or 20mins drive from downtown)? If I can't fit under this budget, what's the best you'd suggest so that it's closer to it? (I think I can stretch a little)
It sounds like entrees have to be less than $12 or 15, when you consider tax, tips, and some beverages. This is a nice idea, but not sure you can get a nice sit-down restaurant for that.
I can stretch my budget since it's only a one time occasion.
Also i think for $18 per person, with 10% taxes and 20% tips for 15 people will come around $360. So even if few people get drinks, I can stretch the budget by that much.
This might work, but it is a practical type of place. San Fernando Roasted Chicken 900 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144 (206) 331-3763 https://g.co/kgs/YbLmaL
A Vietnamese or Chinese restaurant might work.
Searching for places in Chinatown now.
Try Doughzone/Din Tai Fung
I love Taiwanese bun.
I thought about it, cos I love it. But whenever I go there, I end up getting a bill of $30 at least. and I rarely eat a lot. :p But I'll add this to the list. thanks
Shouldn’t it be your manager that takes you and the team to lunch?
I don't know. I'm from India, and there we treat on special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. We have a team lunch every other Friday anyway.
Is it necessary to buy colleagues lunch. American born coworkers usually buy a cake or something to office as farewell party
I'm Indian. :p I know it's not the norm here. But I want to have some good memories.
Double your budget or buy everyone pizza!
You mention in a thread that your team goes out to lunch every other Friday. Why not hijack that as your goodbye lunch? Also, I'm not sure what your company's policy is, but something like this should be able to be expensed as "team building".
