TC Lyft: 130/60/300 TC FB: 110/50/200
Fb will look better on your resume. Stay for a couple years and then go wild. Discount paper money.
How many years of FB experience will look good on resume? I’m thinking about leaving.
People know FB’s up or out policy, and how long you have for each level. If it’s suspiciously close to a possible pip border, they might ask questions. Otherwise, I’d say anything longer than a year looks ok.
You can negotiate FB up to 100k signon, 220k RSU
FB gives 100k only for returning interns
And only Rockstar interns !
I'd need at least twice the equity from Lyft compared to FB for me to call that even. $20K in base is nothing to sneeze at. Have you negotiated yet?
Both are good choices and what team you wind up on will arguably be more impactful than which of the two companies you choose. That said, I would recommend Lyft if you want to live in San Francisco. The shuttle life isn’t great with Facebook.
You have time so take risk now. Join Lyft. You will learn and grow quickly than FB. Perhaps in first 3 months at Lyft you will make 200+ commits in code and ship few big features vs in FB you will still be ramping up! This is based on what I have heard from both sides.
Ha ha you do not know FB do you
Real money vs paper money
