Do you think Byton can produce cars that will provide Tesla with some fierce competiton?
Fierce? No. Maybe Lucid or Rivian.
Usually I would recommend Tesla, but since you select between Tesla and no name company, pick the one who will pay more wit break money (T).
Byton is dead. I see a huge exodus of engineers to Tesla.
I don’t think byton will succeed since it’s a Chinese state own company .....
Rivian is the real competitor
Not to knock their tech or design, but Rivian hasn’t even built production lines, much less ramped them. I’m sure they’ll borrow heavily from Ford expertise, but they’ll have to come up with their own proprietary battery lines. Unless they’re buying packs from a 3rd party, and even then, good luck reaching Tesla volume any faster than Tesla did. By the time they do, Tesla will be another 2 years down the road and that much more advanced/efficient. Tesla could be making solid state or capacitor coupled systems by then. That would explain their last acquisition. Not to mention the charging network...it’ll take years to match Tesla’s current number of stations, and then longer to try to catch up to where Tesla will be by then. It’s also going to take quite a while for American consumers trust a Chinese automobile company, regardless of the quality or value. Early industry savvy adopters will buy them, but not the average consumer slowly beginning to consider an electric car for the first time. That large majority is going to go with a known name brand for their first purchase, if just to play it safe. For these reasons, the Tesla energy business and more, I think Tesla is going to remain the front runner in EV for quite some time; at least until the big names are able to flood their dealer networks w/EVs. Then Tesla will be more niche, like earlier Apple, but grow into current-day Apple status from there.
No...Tesla will always rule!!! First pioneer and everyone else is now following
