MS H1b transfer

Accepted an offer from MICROSOFT in last week of October. Visa evaluationis done before the onsite interview.

Again, received an email last week from immigration team to resubmit questionnaire and documents for visa evaluation.

Any recent h1b hires at MS, could you breakdown the steps involved to file h1b transfer by MS immigration team after background check is complete? How much time it takes to file transfer after filling the questionnaire? Do we get periodic updates of whats going on from immigration team?

you are welcome to comment any other things related to MS visa transfer that help candidates like me. TIA.

When am i going to hear from them after submitting questionnaire? Its been a week. Do we get notified when LCA is filled?

Did you ask for premium processing of your transfer?

Manager has to approve premium processing. It's as easy as asking for premium processing to recruiter. Haven't heard from them after submitting the form. But if you have any doubt they will answer it for sure

I was assuming that premium processing is by default at MS since they have mentioned 6-8 weeks time line. Do you think I should confirm with them about premium processing?

Most companies take unusual time for RFE. Expedia took 2 months too. I got my MS approval today.

Even I was told 6-8 weeks for visa transfer to be done. They do tell you what stage they are in.
This visa questionnaire is mainly to do with documents that weren’t uploaded earlier. Then there is a H1 questionnaire. They keep you informed. Be patient, it is a slow process.

I joined MS a couple weeks back on H-1B receipt. MS applied for my H-1 transfer in September. This coming week, I'll be raising a request to upgrade to premium processing.

Although I don't anticipate any issues with visa approval, I still don't have peace of mind for having joined on receipt. I'll never do this again. The stress of dreading a negative outcome isn't worth it, especially when you have a family.

Why didn't you opt for premium?

Why did you capitalize "MICROSOFT"? Do you want to shout about it? 🤷

Anyone in this thread who has received approval for H1B transfer? I have heard MSFT takes unusual time to respond if we get a RFE.

I am going through the process. Even though you filled a questionnaire, you will be asked to do it again. They do save the answers so it's a quick process. They might ask for more information then about how your education aligns with the job description. Take that form seriously and it takes some time to fill. Within a week of all paperwork being complete, o got a request for my pay slip. The application for sent to uscis within another week. I would say the process was quite fast. Sincey application is in premium processing, I should get the response in 2 weeks. My hiring manager is asking me to already fix the joining date for 2 weeks after. I might agree as I am quite keen to join and don't mind a bit of risk.
