I have a new grad offer from FB, and an interview with MSFT coming up. Realistically, will MSFT come close to the FB offer? Or is interviewing a waste of time, as it won't be able to up my Facebook offer in any way. What's the blind community's thoughts? Also, offers from what company's can realistically drive up a FB new grad offer of 160K TC and 65k sign on.
Take fb Microsoft will not match they
That’s a crap base, ignore TC.
Lol wut. Bad advice.
Public companies that could match/exceed fb: Google Twitter Dropbox LinkedIn (if you’re in Bay Area) Oracle cloud infrastructure (if you’re in Seattle) Snap 🙂
If you are all about pay then skip the MSFT interview. Personally I would interview with MSFT to learn more about what they are working and get a perspective on what they pay. You might like the work at MSFT better.
We give new grads competitive offers for whatever fucking reason. So do wtf u want.
Microsoft will easily match that offer. Probably not 65k sign on but easily the 160tc. I've seen 125 base with 150k rsu and 50k sign on pretty commonly with competing offer.
Msft doesn't pay anywhere close to market.
I would; you have absolutely nothing to lose (not even time, since you're a new grad and these are all new experiences to you). And yes, Microsoft probably will match it, since they apparently only make market-rate/competitive offers to new grads (whereas I included them in my last round as a mid-to-senior-level candidate and they were about 50k short of my current TC and 90k short of the next highest offer). Do be aware that your actual income would still grow much faster at FB, given how they pay their mid-level developers and how their refresher grants work. It's absolutely worth considering them for the right team and project; money matters, but shouldn't be your highest priority right now (and honestly, 10-20k is nothing, even if it seems like a lot right now).
No relocation? Do they pay relocation for fresh grads?
OP : Could you tell me how your FB onsite was? i am a new grad and have one coming up
I'm a return intern, so no onsite
Oh okay. What is the TC breakdown?
