I currently own a Mercedes Benz but maintenance cost is high of it. I am thinking of switching to a Mustang. I will appreciate any insight. TC: 150k
I’ve had 4 2015 Mustangs of every model. Currently have the Ecoboost and love it. 87 Octane gas, 26 avg mpg in traffic, oil filter and Ford Oil is less than $40 at auto part store for oil changes. 17 inch wheels and tires make All Seasons around $400-$500 per set. Two piston brakes in front make brake pads cheap too and easy to swap. 125k miles and haven’t had to replace shocks or struts.
Is 87 recommended for Ecoboost? I've only owned the GT and I always used 93. And oil is more since 5.0 lol.
This was helpful. Thank you. German cars are too expensive to maintain. Regular services costs more than $500 at dealership. And 91+ octane fuel is not cheap😭
87 is ok for the Ecoboost and V6 on a stock tune. 93 is recommended for the GT.
If you look up dyne results the EB loses a ton of power on 87 vs 93 (about 40HP), both can run on 87 but the ECU pulls a lot of timing out. The GT drops about 10HP on 87.
Messaged you
Fairly low, even for the V8 fuel cost is fairly low. If you have bad roads, you'll go through more suspension parts because of how stiff the handling is
How about regular services?
Regular service is dirt cheap compared to a German car(except for oil change since it's a big engine and needs synthetic, same as the Germans), you can probably do it yourself tbh. That's what I did. Brakes are high performance but still cheaper than German too
