Marijuana on a work visa

Do u know of anyone who got into immigration issues for purchasing recreational marijuana? It's legal in CA, but the store took a photocopy of my ID and asked me to register. I am now worried that I have exposed myself to potential immigration problems ( green card application+interview) since I am on a work visa 🤦.

Lmao the dispensary is not going to report you to USCIS 😂

Bruh I’m pretty sure the employee who’s photocopying IDs at the dispensary is working undercover.

Yes - another sting operation. 😱

Marijuana is still a federally controlled substance and not legal. So irrespective of its legality in CA, if for ANY reason, this information surfaces, you can get into trouble with immigration since immigration is federally administered

This is an accurate answer.

Why would you let them photocopy your ID?

Broadcom Ltd. f34aw#qcf OP Feb 7, 2019

The security guy took a photo on his phone before letting me in. He said it was standard procedure

American Express GoJava Feb 7, 2019

Nothing is standard about that 😂

Smoke a fat blunt in front of an ICE officer. What could go wrong? 🤪

You let them take a picture of your id? Sounds sketchy as hell tbh.

Amazon dmbm345 Feb 7, 2019

Are you 100% sure they took a photo of your ID? Or did they use an app to verify the authenticity of your drivers license?

Broadcom Ltd. f34aw#qcf OP Feb 7, 2019

Not sure. Will go back and ask

Amazon XGgK63 Feb 7, 2019

Eaze asks you to send a image of your driver's license before ordering..now I'm scared
