Hey Blind Community, I’m new to Blind. I’m a Rochester Institute of Technology student studying MIS. I'm on my second Co-Op with a manufacturing company in Atlanta. My current position with this company is with the IT security team. They recently told me that they wouldn't be able to hire me next year after I graduate. So I decided to bring my situation here. I love working in cyber security but I'm not sure if companies are hiring entry level cyber security roles. MIS isn't a technical degree like CS. Do you guys know any companies that like to hire entry level cyber security roles?(A referral would help 😉) Being entry level i'd be willing to go with any opportunity that's thrown my way. let me know what you guys think.
Right now I’m looking at incident response. But I’m not sure if my lack of technical skills will allow me to apply for those jobs. I’m currently working with cloud security at my current Co-Op. I enjoy that too. So I’m guessing more of an analyst position would be what I’m looking at. That seems to be the standard entry level cyber security role.
