Do you think mba’s from top schools do better as product managers at Facebook? Do they have better career opportunities than those without an mba?

    Not at Facebook.

Fb and Netflix don’t care about mbas
    Google and amazon care
    Microsoft cares a little

      Certainly not required.

At amazon, 27 year old mba grads become L6. They care and want to retain mbas and pay them pretty well.

It changes every year. 2016 figure was 115K base. 100K stock grant in amazon vesting 5/15/40/40 - 50K sign on over 2 years.

Amazon base is low. The max base for the company is 160K. This is right after mbas graduate too. Which jobs have high bases post bschool ?

Consulting is 140 base pretty much. Is 140 really that different than 115? And they certainly don’t get 30%. They get 0-15%. Your signing is right but amazons sign on is higher.

Consulting total comp is lower than amazons.

      Banking has higher all around.

Both consulting and banking work you hard. Tech you don’t work that much.

MBB consulting bonus is up to 30%: https://managementconsulted.com/consulting-salaries/2018-management-consulting-salaries-for-undergraduates-mbasphds-interns/

I’m also former McKinsey and speak from experience.

Consulting and banking are career accelerators that allow for leapfrogging positions into tech. The compensation grows faster year after year but agree work life balance is brutal.

Yes, hence the “UP TO 30%” and not “GUARANTEED 30%”

MBA isn't a requirement (at Google or Facebook) but surely helps. PMs are required to make business related decisions a d having either an MBA or previous experience communicates that skill set.
