I have the first phone call for Data and Applied Scientist position at Microsoft AI Development Acceleration Program. I applied for internship and filled out the schedule form accordingly. What should I expect in the phone call? Thanks
Is it only for new grads or can experienced people apply too?
I don't know, have 1 yoe and this is my first year in phd
Every question is a veiled version of 2 questions: Does your past show that you would be effective in this role? Can you communicate this to someone who is unfamiliar with your background? Do you want this role? (Can you express this with your passion or hobbies?) Later interviews will basically be asking: Are you qualified? Are you passionate? Are you competent?
Hi OP can I DM you?
Hey man! Did u land thr job? Can I dm u
Just finished up a graduate D&AS internship this summer. For the phone screen, I would expect to be asked about your resume, mostly. Some people got one or two technical questions but I didn’t.
Thanks for your answer. What about onsite interview? I expect to work in vision area so I guess my questions will be related to that, right?
I’m sure. TBF I didn’t know which group I was going to be interviewing with going into the onsite, much less the phone call. The fact that you know suggests you should be ready to talk about your experience with vision, to justify choices you made in past projects, and carry on a meaningful conversation about state-of-industry techniques. I wasn’t asked any coding questions in my four onsite interviews — mostly case studies and statistical tech questions — but maybe you’ll get one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
