I'm in talks with a recruiter from Microsoft in the Seattle area about a Sr. PM role for L63 with the azure team. What base salary and TC should I expect, if they make me an offer? I've heard that Microsoft often low balls with the initial offer, so I want to have an idea about the limit I can negotiate to. Also, I've heard that L63 Sde tend to make more than PMs or TPM. If anyone can confirm that as well. Ideally, I would like to get TC of 245k but not sure if that's possible.

Out of curiosity, if I tell Microsoft that I have competing offers, will they ask me for proof? Why can't I make up competing offers to negotiate?

You can, but it makes you a bad person. They probably won't check.

They have no way of checking - you donโ€™t need to disclose the company - they will happily fuck you so donโ€™t loose sleep over it

That's what I'm thinking too. I don't see anything wrong with using that as a negotiating tactic. They'll happily low-ball me so what's wrong with me making up another offer to get them to raise their offer?

If you really Dev salary, you must be willing to do Dev work.

That's beyond what you can make for asking status updates as a PM
