Received an offer from Microsoft in DC, L62, base 131k, signon bonus 20k, stock 25k. Is this low/medium/high? Is there room for negotiation? Thanks!
It seems reasonable
Cogni guy giving comment on microsoft offer. Hilarious blind.
Btw, are you on bench?
Interviews in the pipeline, no competing offers yet.
Definitely low. New grads are getting 130k stock and 30-50 sign on. You can definitely try to negotiate. To be clear the offers I mention are for Seattle. How many years for work exp do you have ?
8 yrs in consulting, 4 in the technology I'd be working with at Microsoft.
The offer looks normal for industry hire from a non-FAANG. Don't compare yourself with college hires. Even I after five years didn't get that much stock (my on hire was 50 and the yearly refreshers were a joke)
That is not low (I came it at same level but slightly lower base in lower COL area) if job location is in DC as in Washington DC. That’s pretty standard for field role. Not everyone gets the cash sign on so that’s cool. The stock should be negotiable so I’d see if they will do more.
Thanks for your perspective - it's useful to get additional input from someone that is not based in the Bay area or Seattle.
Same here. Came in as 62 three years ago in low COL w/ 123k base and $30k stock. No cash bonus. I didn’t know better then as I’m sure I could have negotiated for more. Agree on stock negotiation.
130k base seems like garbage
Bullshit offer. Walk away, it will cost you $130k in therapy to get over the torment and pain you’ll experience at Microsoft.
Typical entitled blind user
OP thats a decent offer for DC area. What is the role you interviewed for?
Any competing offers ?
