Hello folks... I had my onsite interview two days ago - 2 tech interviews, 1 lunch and one post lunch hiring manager interview. At the end of the process, the hiring manager told me that they will let me know the results in one week. Today morning i have received an email from Microsoft immigration to provide all documents and transcripts. Is it usual to receive immigration email without interview results? Is it a good sign?
I would not consider it as a good sign. Since I had once got immigration email prior to even attending the onsite interview. But nevertheless check with the recruiter
Dod you get an offer?
Did you get an "As Appropriate" interview? If not, you didn't get through.
Only 3 interviews sounds like the loop was cut early, but the hiring manager usually isn't the third interviewer.
Not 3... total 4.. i was scheduled for 3.. the third one was with a group pm manager lunch interview. When that interview was over, the group PM manager told me that there will be a fourth interview post lunch, which turned out to be hiring manager interview. It was an unscheduled interview.
Yes. That most probably means you cleared the interview, if that’s what you are asking for.
I definitely had to provide all the immigration documents even before I went onsite. So, doesn’t mean anything! :)
And you got an offer.... i dont know but this is my third interview with microsoft, but have received the immig email for first time.
It seems most big companies have new policies around immigration for whatever government regulations. Even FB asked all my documents even before they schedule my phone interview, take it with a grain of salt but also be hopeful.
The hiring team should not have scheduled your interview before your immigration status is determined. That email is for you to submit your immigration documents and information so that Microsoft can determine even if you are good to hire otherwise interview is just waste of everybody's time.
I went through similar phase and I had contacted HR before providing documents to immigration team... I ended up getting offer....
Microsoft asks everyone for immigration paperwork before interviews. Happened twice. I politely declined and mentioned that I will share all my paperwork once we have an agreed upon offer. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Immigration info is commonly asked. Dont worry about it or think of it as any sign. Your chances are still the same.
As everyone says. Immigration details is something that's always asked for before an on-site. Hence you can't determine the result of the interview based on this. I would say be patient, it's been just 2-3 days since your interview, if your recruiter doesn't get back within a week of the interview, do a simple follow up
I had to provide everything even before onsite, so it doesnt mean anything, they want to make sure you have legal status before they make an offer.
So did you end up getting an offer?
No
