My recruiter gave me a verbal offer and hasn't answered back for a month and a half. Hasn't responded to the several emails I've sent but I know the person is active, since another recruiter told me that he would get back to me. Two weeks have passed. I want to file a complaint to the recruiters boss. This type of behavior is disrespectful and downright wrong. What do you guys think?
Happened to me so I started to interview around. When the recruiter got back to me, I said I need time to think and negotiated hard.
Yeah, I sighed, opened leetcode and grabbed a white board
Does the recruiters email start with v- ? I’m guessing they’re a contractor and maybe something happened. Those people don’t have much of a vested interest in the whole process.
yes, they are vendors. Still, they get paid for their service, it is in their interest
Happened to me once, missed a phone screen due to priority issue at work, apologized and followed up... ghosted for 2 months.
Pm me recruiter name
pmed you
I will PM you my recruiter's name as well
Happened with me as well.. I was ghosted once the position got closed before I could get any offer. It’s very common with recruiters starting with v-. They literally don’t care. They reply when they need to. They do not bring any transparency to the recruiting process.
that sucks
This doesn't surprise me at all. Some in recruiting / HR are absolute saints, but you've also got a bit block that take two months to get back to you, and only when you casually CC their manager.
This is so annoying. Exactly what I'm going through right now. Recruiter vanished in the middle of negotiations. Copied the hiring manager in an email and no response.
I was employed in the end. After two months of no response I had already given up. The original recruiter for the job post contacted me and said she was out because of an emergency and had another team for me. It took seven months since I was contacted for the first time to start the job. Im really liking it here and its my dream job so it was worth it.
Yeah the sourcing recruiter has been really nice and responsive to me too. I'm glad you like your new job. Who knows maybe I'll join soon too.
The recruiter could have quit ; happened to me and just left me hanging . Extremely rude and unprofessional
I just don't understand how the companies let recruiters get away with this. Companies that claim their most important asset is their people.
Tbh Microsoft recruiters are doing better job than other companies. I have other recruiters replied “ok” when I asked for availability, cancelled the phone call half an hour before the call, stopped responding after we rescheduled etc.
