Basically small repetitive sounds drive me mad. Sound of people eating with their mouth open or banging the keyboard while typing. So far, only masking them away with earphones work for me.
Try listening to rain sound while sleeping. You can find it on YouTube. It might help.
Try meditation daily. Will help calm your mind
This is like recommending meditation for someone with clinical depression. Which is to say, it will help some people but it's not going to make the problem go away.
People recommend meditation for that too. People recommend it for everything. It’s pretty silly to me TBH. Have you also tried <insert current fad diet>? /s
I have this, and recently found out that it's a genetic condition. I get irrationally angry when my coworker eats lunch at her desk next to me. Usually I just take a walk or something until she's done.
Thanks, exactly how I feel. I am a calm person in general except for this, can't see why people would call this being an asshole.
It's nothing like being an asshole. It's hard to explain if you don't have it. Ask around and you may find nice people experiencing the same.

Sorry you're threatened by people whose senses work differently than yours.
The worst is all the people who bring in their loud ass mechanical keyboards from home. Totally unnecessary.
Yea I love my Model M but I'm a bit reticent to bring it into a shared office. Sigh. I'll have to get a new kbd with Cherry MX browns instead.
2.5 years ago I developed hyperacusis for 6 months. Not the same thing, but at the time I thought it could be misophonia. It started with screeching high-pitched tinnitus in my right ear, and my obsession with that bred a severe intolerance for high frequencies. It was awful but I got over the hyperacusis. As for the tinnitus — not so lucky, it’s screaming away as I type this.
Wow don’t get married!
Yup! Drives me nuts. Keyboard typing sound, eating chips sound, eating carrots sound, mouse scroll sound (old mouse) etc infuriates me and I have to put on my earphones. Now, inside my mind I know that this is wrong and I shouldn't be a jerk. I have this for at least 15 years now.
ba dum tum tsk, ba dum tum tsk, ba dum tum tsk. ba. dum. tum. tsk.
