Got an offer from OCI, which compensation-wise with a big jump (200k -> 300k). Moreover, I enjoyed talking to the team and hiring manager during the interview. I liked thieir startup environment. However, what im concerned is more about fututre of this product. OCI is not a leading cloud service(5th place) and cloud competition is tough and intense. As a result, its position and future is quite uncertain. Can anyone share his/her opinion on OCI?
I got an offer recently for ic2, I am joining for sure.
You may be laid off in 3 months.

Dumpster 🔥
I like the negativity about oci. I have been here almost five years. I could bust all myths. But why would I care. Fk you all. You decide your own shit.
Can I dm you?
No you can’t. I have no desire to help anyone. I could not care less if you think we are going to die tomorrow morning.
5 years in OCI and still a shit show.. clearly the bar is low. Walmart guy you should apply there. They take anyone these days
That's what I felt. They hire anyone who can type.
BS our iaas is superior to yours in every way
Your concern is valid. There are couple of issues a) OCI being 5th place mean it will disappear sooner or later b) Oracle was a good company to join in engg. role 1990 - 2000 but not any more. C) ) company does do lay-off and have history - based on how the product revenue is doing. OCI is not new any more, so pressure on. If it was a role in Oracle Sales, I would have said join but for engg. yiu should pass on and you will be much better off at Microsoft long term.
Fair comments. Appreciate.
Last layoff at Oracle was downright dirty and they dug into people's profiles and made high paid architects leave with shit explanations.
Use this offer to land at Amazon or an unicorn startup
