I've been in the warehouse for 19 years, been a marketing manager for 5 years, love it so much I went to school and for my degree. Now I'm looking outside and marketing managers make so much more on the outside. Is it realistic to move? What should I be looking for?
Might not get direct into a manager position but you'll probably still get more $$$. Can't hurt to try.
I know plenty of marketing managers and leaders who have less experience than you do. Package and define your expertise in marketing and I guarantee that there is demand for it in the Seattle area.
My spouse is in marketing in a large tech company and she makes triple (without bonuses and stock) what I do and I’m into six figures. So yes, Costco routinely under pays their employees. Kick some tires outside. It can’t hurt.
What is her background? How’d she get to that point?
Without going into too much detail she’s worked in tech marketing for many years. Once you are in it’s easy to move around. Getting in to a tech company is the hardest part now. It wasn’t always that way. But I know a lot of ex-Costco employees doing well in Tech.
Costco pays shit. Get out.
What kind of marketing does Costco do? Mainly mailers? Digital? Your path will whatever be your skills are..
Hard sales, upsales, telemarketing, email marketing, community relations. I know this isn't enough so I went to school and got my marketing degree.
