Moving out from QA to Product Management

I have been in QA for a long time now and want to move into product management. What should be the approach to make it happen? Got some advice from folks that internal move will be simpler but would like to understand this community’s perspective as well.

Have you thought about why you want to make the move? Internal transfer is definitely easier. And once you learn the ropes, you can jump in 2-3 years.

It is a more natural move than you would think. If you have been here long enough try a take 3. Otherwise I would encourage you do some training courses on product managementZ Udemy and Stanford have some really good courses. YouTube I think is even better 😀

*sigh* another wanna be product manager. Do you think it is some thing fancy? Or pays you better for no reason? I am trying to understand why does so many people who has never built something want to do product management.

What kind of project would you have wanna be product managers build to justify their desire to be a PM? Also, don't you think that building a project for someone who isn't interested in coding is very tough and unecessary for someone who wants to learn how to be at the center of business, design and tech?
