Wanted to compare the ease of getting offers/visa sponsorships from Europe vs US vs Canada for an Indian. Also which companies are the goto Dev hubs in Europe/Canada? YOE: 7 TC: 40LPA INR
Amazon gives international offers for their Canadian offices. DM me if you want me to refer.
Will do
But don't expect to save more compared to India. Vancouver living expenses are too much.
Not looking at it from a savings aspect, more like trying out a different experience
It is, but looking more from new experiences perspective.
You married? As a general principle, Indian marriages seem to succeed if you don't move back to India after marriage... So, if you go to the US and get married while there, it'll be hard to come back to India.
I don't think Canada and US is an different but maybe Europe might be. I know too many people are sent to EU when they can't get their visa for US after the hire. I assume it's like a safety net kinda thing? But what do I know.
I have heard of such cases in AWS where they temporarily relocated people to Germany while trying for a US visa. How are the Microsoft teams in Europe? Any particular cities where interesting teams are based out of?
I heard there is a research center in New England but it looks like it's more of a visitors front or like interns and stuff I don't if there are any teams ship products but they sure do look interesting. They have nice events around ML, DL. Other than that someone else should collab here i guess.
Any insights from people at Uber?
You already have answers. What more do you want?
Do they sponsor visas/ take in overseas applications at their Europe/US locations? Also are there any other companies that do that?
Consider booking.com if you want to move to Amsterdam, make above market rates (but much less than the US), have excellent WLB, and wait only 5 years to get a passport.
Can we get citizenship in 5 years ? I have been reading that you need 5 years for PR and then another 5 for citizenship
Yeah kinda long. Better go to germany/canada. If you get in through sponsorship, you will get PR in both countries within 2-3 years
🙄
