Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
I have an Engineering Manager - M1 level offer from Facebook. 215K base, 20% annual bonus and 420K RSUs that vest over 4 years and 60K sign in. What do you think about this offer? Location is FB HQ and this is part of their Core app data team. Should I negotiate to get a better offer? Please let me know your inputs.
Interview somewhere else too, competing offers is the best way to get anyone's best offer without haggling.
RSU seems low. Otherwise solid offer.
Good offer. How many years of experience you have?
15, half of this as engineer, half as engineering management
What was their interview process like — how many rounds of coding? How hard? How many system design? How many behavioral interviews?
You can definitely get more rsu. I got a similar TC offer in the past for ic5. I assume this is e6.
this is M1
Right, so e6
YOE ?
15+ YOE, 7.5 yrs as engineer, 7.5 yrs with engineering management
What was the interview process like for M1? What was your level/position at your last company?
2-3 rounds of technical & leadership phone screen, 5-6 onsite interviews with focus on leadership, design, problem solving & some coding tests
Get a sign on 100k..I'm a technical recruiter at google and losing candidates with 2 years of experience over sign on bonus by Facebook of 100k. I guarantee you Facebook is going to give you higher sign up. 60k is average sign on bonus for Sr. engineers at Google, Facebook and Amazon, however Facebook is paying out a lot more, just ask for it and recruiter will make it happen. They have high pressure to meet the hiring Quota to fill the open positions and they try their best to go back to comp. team to get you higher sign on. Just ask and recruiter will get you more. 65k is average and something you can comfortably ask.
Ask for 800k rsu. All else look very good
