As a guy from the storage industry, please heed my words and stay away. It is boring, the work means nothing and especially at Netapp, there's too much politics to do anything useful anymore.
Netapp is bleeding talent and can't seem to keep up with EMC or have growth similar to smaller companies (Pure Storage).
Pure Storage is seeing entire teams move to our company and they all say the same thing "It was great 3-4 years ago but morale has declined pretty heavily".
Please note that this is not an ad for Pure Storage either. It was great 1-2 years ago but morale is starting to come down as the company prepares to become just another one of the storage vendors.
