Never tried it. How does it feel for a beginner. I recently moved to Seattle and see have a heart shops everywhere. Hoping for reasonable answers in addition to usual trolls. Can someone compare it to wine or whiskey so I have some idea ? And how much it costs ? Like wine is typically 8-10 bucks a glass
Tried it once, liked it. Good if you're stressed and need something to calm you. As long as you don't use it too often or get dependent to it you'll be fine. Make sure you do it with someone who has taken it before for first time so you don't over-do it. The kick is a bit delayed and it's very easy to do too much pot. Nothing like wine or whiskey. The kick from pot is much stronger.
I disagree with the above about starting with edibles. Personally, I think vape pens are an easier entry-point. The batteries are typically 10-20 bucks and the cartridges are 30-40$. I prefer pens because you feel the effects more immediately which makes it easier to dial in your dosage.
Iâd also add that for me, I find that a good way to think about it is; Pipe/Pen= Beer, Bongs= shots, and joints=wine. Stay away from concentrates/dabs/shatter,etc. as thatâs the rough equivalent of mainlining Everclear.
pens are fine. you can work with granular doses, and effects are almost immediate. easier to control.
Hey dude! In the past, trying cannabis for the first time was a major challenge. Different ways of smoking, different thc potencies, etc. shameless plug for weedmaps.com . Check out our learn page. Everything you need to know to get started. I recommend starting out with a light vape. If you check out the brand stiiizy on Weedmaps youâll find they have a 1:1 thc to CBD ratio mango cartridge. Nice subtle high for getting started! 1 puff to with a light inhale. After 30 minutes, for another. Feel it out. We all have different tolerances and happy places :) happy toking ! DM if you have any more questions
I suggest smoking a bit as you can flex on how much you smoke and flex on different strains and find some you like. Two primary classes: indicas and sativas. Indicas tend to be heavy, relaxing, with more of a body high, something youâd smoke before bed. Sativas tend to be more cerebral, creative, energetic - something youâd smoke if you wanted to do a project or hack some code on a weekend. Most strains are a hybrid of the two, and theyâll list the breakdown and usually make some attempt to list the effects, which are roughly accurate I guess?? The two main chemicals involved are THC (what makes you feel stoned) and cbd (which makes you feel physically relaxed). You can go to a good weed shop and ask for a variety of grams and you can try some things. And buy a pipe and look online on how to pack a bowl. Dude.
And then youâll have to learn to roll a joint, so go buy an ounce and a pack of rolling papers and PRACTICE DUDE. You have to practice a lot but eventually youâll the hang of it. Those vape pens take all the challenge out of it.
You don't want to get caught up in a recursion that you're unable to stop after weed.
If you're a light user, a vape pen is probably like $0.50 per use. Super cheap and easy.
I donât recommend edibles first time. So easy to overdo it and you donât feel it immediately. I donât live in a weed state but I assume you can buy a prerolled joint so Iâd say buy one of those and smoke it. Weed to alcohol is like apples to pennies. They are completely different in effect and experience.
I smoke weed exclusively before sex/ jacking off because it gives me the most intense orgasms..
So you must toke several times a day with all the fapping you do.... đ¤¤
Just my opinion. Go edible and micro dose. That way you can work yourself up. Like others have said it can take a couple hours to hit. This way you can gauge your tolerance and know where the point is of getting to stoned versus a tad buzzed.
Been doing weed for 10 years, sometimes more often and then I can take a break for months. I agree with the smoking first. Edibles can be tough because many people donât feel it. Takes about 30-90 minutes to kick in, depending on the circumstances. Even though itâs been so long, it still only take 3mg to get to high. Anything more than 8mg will make me uncomfortable. Take it slow, and itâs ok if it takes a few tries to see where youâre comfortable at. Echoing above, donât overdo your first time. Had a friend do this and he started having weird experiences, though he was trapped in a dream state, youâll feel like your heart is going to pop out of your chest, cold and tingling all over. Last advice, I wouldnât advise doing to every day unless you plan to keep up with it. I got major anxiety (when I wasnât high) when I tried doing that for a couple weeks and it took me a week to calm down.
Edibles are usually a good entry point but are also the least predictable and can sometimes be the most intense doses. This is how I got started and is still my favorite mode. Try a dosage < 5 for your first time, and youâll lower your risk of overdoing it. Smoking or topicals are also options. You can usually ask someone at the dispensary for advice.
Cost-wise, you can spend under $30 for a good experience (with edibles especially youâll get a package of about 10 doses). Re: wine or whisky, it takes longer to hit but has a stronger effect. Youâll feel a little loopier.
Highly suggest you donât try edibles for your first time. They can be really unpredictable. Can really ruin cannabis for you
