Hi there, If your position is changed one month after you joined a new company. What would you do? Do I have to ask slightly higher compensation or (if there us any) what else? I recently moved to new position as hardware engineer in biotech company. Originally I got an offer as senior engineer and my official position is same as of now. Today, I got an email from HR that I am newly assigned as associate staff engineer (next level from senior in my company). Actually, this is the level that the company wanted to hire but failed and lower the level. Also, my experience level is about to this level. I haven't talked to my manager but will have a chat this Friday. Any comment or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know what happened. But I think they just changed the level of this position so it might not be a promotion, just adjusting the position's detail.
If higher than senior, then tc should be adjusted up as well.
