Non tech to tech (Ms in data science)

My wife has 7 years of education domain experience. She has done bachelor and masters in mathematics from top Delhi univ colleges and use to work in publishing houses in India to create maths books for k12 students. So she use to do research on k12 education of various countries. In short she has education domain expertise but non tech. We also did a 2 yr startup where she has knowledge how to build a product as a non tech person. Recently she started MS in data science. What are some useful advice for her.? Or how I should guide/help her? She is scared and I want to help her as much I can. I am software engineer having 7 yrs exp (less than 1 yr in usa) and a MS in CS. I can help her technically but want to see how we should plan her next 2 yrs of MS.

It is fairly common for non desi non swe tech folks to have no formal cs education. Keep in mind that classical cs theory is an extension of Math and was taught in math dept at universities a few decades ago

She should do MS in CS instead. Much better job market and her math background will help with leetcoding.

We though about it but thought data science will be more aligned with her maths background. Computer science is much more complex for her. Although she has started doing leetcoding.

Leetcode is input output, just like math.

She started doing small programming questions as well as easy leetcode. One of my main concern is how she can represent her while talking to recruiters or will managers from edutech domain will appreciate her experience with education domain?
