Just received a offer for a senior hardware engineer position, in a medical device company Base: 137k/year Target bonus: 10% Sign on: 5k my background EE PhD + 8 years experiences. Offer seems a bit low?
Well I’m not EE but that seems super fucking low for PhD and 8 yoe in bay.
What do you I should ask for? 160k base?
I'm a HW guy with an EE background and that's definitely on the low end. My current comp is 160k/20%/0 RSU; I have less experience than you.
Are you g7?
You can PM me your company name and maybe I can help since I'm also a EE hardware engineer in medical device company in Bay area.
Is it public. Do they give out RSUs or options? Also it depends on your current TC. It may not be a bad short term TC, if they are paying for relocation, to get your for in the door of Bay area market. One here you can easily switch and get competitive offers.
Seems low.
